Job Title: Minister of Music
Nature of Position:
St. Paul’s is looking for a part-time Minister of Music responsible for preparing music for worship services and leading the congregation in musical worship experiences.
Job Description
Duties may include any or all of the following:
- Leading congregational hymns
- Leading and directing the Praise Team
- Leading and directing the Handbell Choir
- Providing special music performances for each service (can be soloists, handbells, groups, etc., instrumental or vocal)
- Working with the pastor on music selections for services
- Working with the pastor and church board on music program
- Developing ideas to bring new people into the church music programs
- Gauging interest in possibly reforming the senior choir and children’s choir
- Developing the music program budget
The candidate should be someone who:
- has excellent interpersonal skills
- has excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- has excellent organizational and administrative skills
- preferably has good keyboard (piano) skills
- is patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic
- has a positive attitude
Educational/Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Music, and experience in direction of music preferred.
